ABOUT US

Aquablue is a youth group consisting of marine science students at KENYATTA UNIVERSITY that came together with an aim to eradicate poverty through participating in the nationwide efforts to ensure; food security, the creation of employment and securing a sustainable income among the youths. We also are promoting sustainable activities with regards to the natural resources endowed to us as COASTAL communities.

The idea was seeded in the year 2017 and since then, we have carried out different activities to complete our projects. We have participated in the annual agricultural show in Mombasa under the ministry of fisheries and livestock. We have participated in innovation challenges including the ‘get in the ring’ competition where we were able to become 1st runners up.

We have been able to shape our goals with the current sustainable development goals that include;

As AQUABLUE we aim to be beneficial to our local community and the nation as a whole. We want to create employment, enhance food security, enrich our coastal communities in terms of capacity building and living standards, generate income and closing the gaps developing in the fisheries sector.

Aquablue’s mission is to provide the community with quality, fresh, and valuable products. Quality and service are our number one priority. The fish farm in our backyard is meant to provide a cheap source of protein for the community as well as take care of the high demand of fish as protein to the nation as a whole. We  intend to have the most ethical fish farm products. The nutritious and protein rich products from our farm would always be the first choice of consumers.
